Political Analyst, Kweku Adu Gyamfi, has described as unfortunate President Akufo-Addo’s statement at Mepe in the Volta Region pertaining to the dam spillage.
Speaking on Angel Morning Show, on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, the political analyst condemned the statement made by the President during his visit to some affected areas in the North Tongu Constituency.
“I want to say, I condemn certain terms or the statement that His Excellency made. It is very irresponsible as a leader. That should not be your language,” Mr. Gyamfi said.
He entreated leaders to desist from using unpalatable words that would have a psychological effect on victims during difficult moments rather than comfort and encourage them.
He added that, in these difficult times, leaders in the country should organise themselves to provide a solution to the problem rather than politicise it.
He highlighted that leadership requires knowledge, wisdom and problem-solving skills.
The political analyst furthered and called on the Members of Parliament for North Tongu on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress in the Volta Region to put in place drastic measures and come to the aid of the flood victims.
