Flood waters sweep away errand girl in Kasoa

A family at Awutu Kwaobonzde, near Kasoa in the Central Region has been left in a state of shock after their pre-teen was swept away by flood waters after a heavy downpour.

Janet Atta Kakra, 11, met her untimely death on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 when she fell into an open drain after a heavy downpour.

The rushing waters in the gutter were said to have carried the pre-teen away to the amazement of her elder sister.

According to Angel News’s Opanin Darko the deceased and her elder sister were returning home after running an errand for the mother when the unfortunate incident occurred.

Passersby who arrived at the scene following an alarm by the deceased’s sister mounted a search for her but all efforts to rescue Janet alive proved futile as her lifeless body was discovered in a nearby bush.

The Police have since deposited her body at the morgue for preservation and autopsy.

They have also commenced further investigation into the cause of death.
