Former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for La-Dadekotopon, Nii Amasah Namoale has praised the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for busily marketing a weak candidate for the 2024 elections.

Speaking on Angel Morning Show, on Monday, the former Law Maker said he is happy that the creme de la creme of the party are marketing a candidate which the NDC sees as a weak candidate.

“We in the NDC see Dr Bawumia is the weakest among all the aspirants but we are happy the party leadership is happily marketing him…at least it shows that they have no better candidate for 2024 elections…,” he said.

The NPP will on November 4, 2023 elect a candidate for the 2024 elections at delegates conference to be organised at designated venues across the country.

Four candidates – Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Kennedy Agyapong, Afriyie Akoto and Francis Addai Nimoh – are contesting to lead the NPP into the polls. Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is the front runner in the race with many predicting his victory in the polls.

Namoale who believes in this polls think the Vice President will be not match for the 2024 NDC flagbearer, John Mahama. He has therefore encouraged the delegates of the NPP not to disappoint him.

“Bawumia is the best candidate amongst them…he is the nothing but best person in the race and we pray he is voted for to lead the party…,” he added.
