The High Court has restrained the Dormaahene, Osaagyefo Oseadeyo Agyeman Badu II, from participating in the funeral rites of Daasebre Dr Amankona DiawuoII, the late Berekumanhene.

Angel News reporter, the Kwasi Oppong, the Sunyani High Court gave the order after the Berekum Traditional Council filed the suit Wednesday, November, 22, 2023.

The Court also instructed the security agencies to ensure maximum protection at the funeral which started yesterday.

The Dormaahene has, however for sometime now, been the centre of controversies with his ceaseless criticism of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The development has created some tension between the two traditional leaders and many think the situation could get nasty if the two of them meet at the funeral of the late Berekumanhene.

The Dormaahene is President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs which has jurisdiction over Berekum while traditionally, the people of Berekum are subjects to the Asante Kingdom with the Otumfuo as their overlord.

The Dormaahene per the program, was to participate in the funeral rites on Wednesday but he refused and chose to do so on Thursday, November, 23.
