Hunter saves two-year-old boy from being used for money rituals

But for the intervention of a hunter, a two-year-old boy could have been used for money rituals at Senya Bereku in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region.

The little boy was rescued by kind a local hunter who was returning home.

The hunter, while returning from hunting at about 1:00 AM dawn heard the cry of a child, and quickly rushed to the scene only for the unknown perpetrator to take to his heels and leave the victim.

The child was surrounded by a calabash full of food and eggs purported to be used for the supposed sacrifice.

“The hunter said that while returning from his hunting, he heard the continued cry of a baby, so he decided to follow the sound because it was around 1:00 am and nobody farms around that time. He said that upon getting closer, an unknown man who was about to sacrifice the innocent child ran away,” reported Angel News Correspondent, Opanyin Darko.

The hunter subsequently waited in an attempt to fish out the perpetrator, however, nobody showed up and proceeded to report the matter to the police at Senya Beraku.

They rushed to the scene, rescued the child, and found items such as concussion and other ritual food in an earthenern bowl.

Social Welfare Officer of the area, Benjamin Narh says, his outfit is in the possession of the two-year-old boy but is currently suffering from Congenital Disorder Movement.

He indicated his outfit has prepared the necessary documents to hand over the rescued child to an orphanage home for proper care.
