Legendary defender for Accra Hearts of Oak, Dan Quaye says his former club would emerge victorious over bitter-rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko in Sunday’s super clash.

According to him, though matches involving the two powerhouses mostly occasion with uncertainties, he believes Hearts of Oak will prove their supremacy.

Accra Hearts of Oak hosts Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday, December 10, 2023, in week 14 of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League campaign.

The phobians play their home game away from home following the decision of the National Sports Authority to hand over the Accra Sports Stadium for musical concerts this Christmas festivity.

Speaking ahead of the biggest fixture in Ghana’s topflight football Dan Quaye said the rainbow boys will render the porcupine powerless in their backyard come Sunday.

“I will say that Hearts of Oak will win this game even though they are not really in a good place at the moment. There wouldn’t be pressure on the players, but they will play in Kumasi, so that will ease the pressure a little bit,” he stated in an interview monitored by Angelonline.com.gh.

Hearts of Oak’s last visit to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium ended in a 1-1 score during the 2022/2023 Ghana Premier League.

The Phobians who occupy the 8th position on the league table with 16 points are three points behind the Porcupine Warriors who occupy the 7th position with 19 points.

While Accra Hearts of Oak conceded 8 goals out of the 9 goals scored so far, Kumasi Asante Kotoko also scored 12 and conceded 10 goals in the ongoing season.
