Retired Commissioner of Police, COP George Alex Mensah, who is contesting to become the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Bekwai Constituency, has claimed that the first Speaker of Parliament, Joseph Osei Owusu, popularly known as Joe Wise has endorsed his candidature.

According to him, Joe Wise who is also the incumbent MP has endorsed his candidature because he believes in his policies and charisma.

“Joe Wise has asked the people to vote for me to replace him because having occupied the Bekwai seat for close to 16 years in Parliament, he knows what is good and who can continue his good works for the people of Bekwai…,” he disclosed Angel Morning Show on Thursday, January 11, 2024.

He however accused his opponents of sabotaging his candidature despite being cleared by the vetting committee.

According to the fearless retired police officer, his opponents have resorted to plotting against his reputation in quest of his political career.

COP Alex Mensah who is the frontrunner for the Bekwai seat in the Ashanti Region described his accusers as “Satanists in NPP” who he will unmask at the right time.

He told Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah that his opponents are paying huge sums of money to delegates to vote against his candidature come January 27th, 2024.

“The contest for the Bekwai seat is going very well…the delegates want to vote for me massively and this is what makes my opponent uncomfortable and hence pushing this fake report agenda. The same person is touring around Bekwai here and paying monies to delegates to vote against me, yes, I know the person behind this act,” he stated.
