PHOTOS: Wesley Grammar Old Students hold mentorship session for students

Senior High School (SHS) students have been advised to seek help and counselling on the career paths they seek to pursue from the right mentors before leaving their various secondary schools for tertiary institutions.

This, according to some old students of the Wesley Grammar Old Students Association (WESGOSSA) will help guide students to always embark on their right career paths.

The advise was offered when some astute and well-respected members of WESGOSSA held a mentorship session for freshers and final year students of the school over the weekend.

The mentorship session, the first of its kind in the school, was aimed at fratenising with the students of Wesley Grammar School and also educating them of how to choose the right paths to realising their dreams.

Director of Research at the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER), Prof. Peter Quartey, who is an old student of the Methodist institution said the old students felt compelled to come back to their roots and offer the best of counselling to the young generation as part of efforts to make the place an institution of choice to students.

To him, having a mentor in life was the right way to go as it will help the young generation live a better life and make society a better place.

A Lecturer at the Information Studies of the University of Ghana, Dr. (Mrs.) Florence Odarkor Enstua-Mensah whiles recounting her days at the School in the 1990s said she felt inspired to keep pushing for a higher height after enrolling in Wesley Grammar School.
She encouraged the students to push till they get the best as the sky has always been a springboard for persons seeking to be successful in life.
Other speakers at the function included Lawyers, Phychiatrists, celebrated fashion designers and several other old students who are doing well in their various fields.
