The Member of Parliament (MP) for Efutu Consistency in the Central Region, Afenyo Markins, has advised the youth to abstain from social vices.

He stated that engaging in immoral acts such as early sex, abortion, and drug abuse can serve as a big destruction to their educational career, adding that once they become addicted, putting an end to it would be difficult.

Mr. Afenyo however urged them to rather engage in activities to enhance their educational career.

He gave the advice when he paid a visit to the Winneba Secondary School (WINNSEC), where he donated 300 bunk beds to the school.

Speaking further, the Lawmaker emphasised that female students fall victim to the acts more than the males do, leading to pregnancy which they risk their lives to terminate.

The MP thus urged the female students to disregard those who advise them to take pills for abortion purposes should pregnancy occur after sexual intercourse, and cautioned the boys to stay away from people who introduce them to alcohol and hard drugs such as cocaine, marijuana, and cigarettes amongst others.
