The embattled senior police officer implicated in the IGP leaked tape scandal, COP George Alex Mensah has lost out on his bid to represent the NPP in the Bekwai constituency in the December 7 general elections.
Even though the senior officer enjoyed the support of the sitting Member of Parliament and First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Joseph Osei Owusu he was still unsuccessful in his bid to secure the parliamentary nod.
Provisional results indicate that he polled 245 votes as compared to the winner, Lawyer Ralph Opoku Adusei who polled 662 votes.
