Thousands of football enthusiasts and people from all walks of life, on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, hit the national capital to protest recent poor outings by the country’s national teams, particularly the Black Stars.

The exercise fronted by celebrated sports journalists such as Dan Kwaku Yeboah, Sadick Adams [Sports Obama], Veronica Commey, Patrick Osei Agyemang [Countryman Songo] and Bright Kamkam Boadu among others, started at Obra Spot at the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange.

They expressed their displeasure over football management in the country seeking immediate solutions and proactive actions to salvage the situation.

The protestors clad in red and black, walked through Asylum Down, the Greater Accra Regional [Ridge] Hospital, before reaching the Ghana Football Association headquarters where they presented their petition to the leadership.

They then proceeded to the premises of the Parliament of Ghana before ending the protest at the Independence Square.

Their actions come after the Black Stars’ early exit from the just-ended 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) where the team failed to progress past the group stage equaling the same shambolic display during the 2021 edition in Cameroon.
