Juventus’ Paul Pogba has been handed a four-year ban for doping and the decision has now been made.

Pogba had tested positive for testosterone after Juve’s first game of the season against Udinese and was initially suspended from action.

Counter-analysis was carried out and it failed to prove anything otherwise, with Pogba’s doctor friend in the United States having told the player to use a prescription which had testosterone without the Frenchman’s knowledge.

It is now official that Pogba has been banned for four years and it is a request from the anti-doping prosecutor’s office, confirming that the sentence should be made official.

TuttoJuve state that this could mean that Pogba’s career can now actually end, but the sentence can still be appealed.

It was initially suggested that the midfielder use the lack of intentionality in the actions as a defence and there is a chance that the appeal could yet change things.
