International Diplomatic Consultant, Farouk Al Wahab, has labelled Ghana as a country which is currently on a reverse gear.

“The only thing happening in Ghana now is that the country is on a reverse gear now, we have to admit that we have disappointed the country. Everyone came to do something, but you can’t do it all, but currently what they are doing is  that the country is going south,” he said on Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Thursday, March 7, 2024.

Farouk Al Wahab who was commenting on the successes of the country after 67 years of independence said the country ought to do more to get to the level of its peers like Malaysia, Canada, India and others.

According to him, the country would have achieved more if it had the right leadership from independence.

He however said the blame for the country’s under-development ought to be laid at the doorsteps of the youth who he argue have failed to put the necessary pressure on the country’s leaders to live up to expectation.

“I will not agree that Ghana youths, Ghana young men and women in their in their 40s, in their 30s who have not been part of the government should be insulated from blame. They are the people that we should today blame more than the whole political class…they are totally disorganized,” he stated.

His argument, he said, is based on the fact that the youths who have served in various governments since independence have failed.

He further questioned the youth on what they are doing for the country.
