International Diplomatic Consultant, Farouk Al-Wahab, has expressed his disappointment in the government’s communication machinery for failing to defend the government’s position on the Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill 2021, popularly known as the Anti-Gay Bill.

According to him, this lapse has emboldened the LGBTQ community to be pushing the Akuf-Addo administration and the President in particular not to sign the bill which was passed by Parliament.

“If the bill has been passed, they have to tone it down. Communication through the Foreign Ministry, communication through the interior and the government is poor. This has made the foreigners rise up, thinking we are intimidated. We are cowards, how?” he queried on Angel Morning Show (AMS).

To him, the President is been pushed not to append his signature to the Bill unnecessarily adding that this would not have happened if the Government and people of Ghana had not been too tolerant of the views of the members of the LGBTQ+ community.

“Let me tell you, LGBTQ+, in this country, the diplomats, we have been tolerating them too much…we are even granting visas to the spouses of diplomats who are members of the LGBTQ+ community

All these, he repeated, is happening mainly due to the consistent borrowing of money from Bretton Woods institutions.

“We have been borrowing monies from International Monetary Fund (IMF) but most of the financiers of the IMF, are LGBTQ activists since they have a lot of money. So these are the team and these are the people who have given conditions to IMF to promote their ideology in their countries when they come for loans,” he stated.

He added that the country will be independent of the negative influences of these donors if we learn to be self-reliant.
