A former Communication Director for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Adomako Baafi has claimed that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has empowered more women in Ghana than any political party has ever done.
“When it comes to the issue of women, NPP’s record since Nkrumah’s time is unmatched. To begin with, a whole ministry was set up. The Ministry of Gender and Women Affairs. If we don’t like women, would we have established that?, he queried on Angel Morning Show (AMS).
Mr Baafi said this while reacting to claims that the main opposition political party, National Democratic Congress (NDC) thinks more about women hence the selection of Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as John Mahama’s running mate.
According to him, the NPP’s achievement on the empowerment of Ghanaian women remain unmatched insisting that the NPP has given more opportunities to females.
