A member of the national communication team for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Lawyer Twum Barima, has expressed his disappointment in the current education system.

According to him, the current education system is now a ‘sport game’ where players always leave the field after some minutes for others to also come take part in the game.

“Now we have turned the education system into sport. We have turned the education into sport…some of the students under the green and gold tracks now have to vacate the field at particular times for others to come take part in the game,” he exclaimed on Angel Morning Show on Thursday, 21st March, 2024.

He opined that the country education system has “deteriorated to the extend that Senior High schools are engaging in mass promotion” just to create rooms for new batches and also save the government from incurring additional expenses.

“Mass promotion, every one should be promoted. Will our future be successful or be gloomy?,” he quizzed.

He compared the current education system to that of the past, and questioned whether the future of the next generation will be great under what he viewed as a ‘disappointing education system’.

“The old form of education during our time promoted competition and encouraged students to learn. Today, all these things have faded out from our educational system and we think we are doing the best for our children, when we tell them they are the future leaders! How will the future leadership be?” he queried.
