Angel Sports team win in-house cooking contest

The first-ever in-house cooking competition among staff of Angel 102.9 FM and Angel TV, management of the media organisation, came off successfully on Easter Monday, April 1, 2024.

The contest, dubbed ‘Angel Cooks’, took place at the forecourt of Angel FM, Lapaz-Nyamekye junction and was competed among departments such as the Morning Show, Mid-Morning Show, Newsroom, Drive, and the Sports.

At the end of the cooking show, the Sports team- represented by Sadick Adams (Sports Obama), Kofi Owusu Jerry, SK Ameyaw and Samuel Yeboah also known as Yaw Adonko, emerged the overall winners after they prepared fufu and served it with groundnut soup and chicken.

The morning show team and Newsroom claimed the 1st and 2nd Runner-ups positions, respectively while the Drive team came fourth following the judges’ score. The Mid-Morning show team failed to show up without stating any reasons.

Kwadwo Dickson who doubles as the station’s General Manager and a News Anchor, led the Newsroom and showcased their cooking skills on Banku and Okro Stew.

Spearheaded by the host of Angel Drive team, Osibo together with Togo Borga and Rossy, prepared Mpoto Mpoto.

The judges, made up of four neutral individuals [three women and a male], at the end of the competition had their scorecards in favour of the Angel Sports team.

Angel Cooks saw staff of the Accra-based media organisation showcase culinary talent and promoted Ghanaian foods to climax the ‘Ghana Month’- March- which is the month in which the country gained independence from colonial rule, to celebrate and promote everything made in Ghana.

Director of Administration, Nana Apeanti as well as other management staff of both Angel FM and Angel TV, graced the event that saw audiences from all walks of life in the Greater Accra metropolis present.
