The Youth Wing in the New Patriotic Party led by their various constituency youth organizers, have appealed the flagbearer of the Party to consider nominating Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh as his running mate ahead of the December 7 polls.

In a joint statement released on April 12, 2024, the youth organizers highlighted the strengths and qualifications of Dr. Prempeh, who currently serves as the Energy Minister and Member of Parliament for Manhyia South.

The organizers expressed confidence in Dr. Prempeh’s abilities and suitability for the role, citing his extensive experience in the Ashanti Region and his strong rapport with the youth. They believe that Dr. Prempeh’s nomination would enhance the party’s chances of securing victory in the upcoming elections.

“We have worked with Dr. Prempeh in the party in the Ashanti Region over the years and can attest to his competence and credibility,” the organizers stated in the release.

They praised his teamwork, openness to differing opinions, and accessibility to party members and supporters and added that Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh commands a lot of respect among the youth in the Ashanti Region.

“He commands a lot of respect within the corridors of the youth in the Ashanti Region,” they stated.

The youth organizers also emphasized the need for a strong leadership pairing to ensure the NPP retains power and continues building on the achievements of the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration. However the combination of Dr. Bawumia and Dr. Prempeh would be a perfect match to lead the party to victory and support the party’s goal of “breaking the 8”.
