Asante Kotoko show supremacy over Hearts of Oak in Super Clash

Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Sunday, May 26, 2024, proved their supremacy in the current football season over bitter rivals Accra Hearts of Oak in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

The Super Clash played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the match week 31 fixtures of the topflight league saw Kotoko record a 2-0 in commanding victory.

Ugandan striker, Steven Mukwala scored in the first half and a stoppage-time goal to ensure that the Phobians left the Ashanti Regional capital without a point.

The result means the Porcupine Warrior completed a league double over their bitter rivals Hearts of Oak this season with a 2-0 and a 3-2 scoreline respectively.

Asante Kotoko now move to the ninth place with 43 points following the win while Hearts of Oak sit in the 13th place with 38 points, placing them two points away from the relegation zone.

The Reds will host Accra Great Olympics on Sunday, June 2, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for week 32 of the league fixtures with Hearts of Oak also hosting Nations FC at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, May 31.
