Responding to NDC claims that the NPP government has failed to recruit nurses and teachers since taking power in 2017, Asante asserted that the situation was even worse during Mahama’s presidency from 2012 to 2016.
“Kwaku Boahen claims the NPP is not posting nurses and teachers. However, I must point out that from 2012 to 2016, under the incompetent John Mahama, there was a complete ban on public sector employment,” Asante told Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah.
He further noted that under Mahama’s administration, teachers worked for three years but received only three months’ salary. Asante questioned what new initiatives Mahama could bring to the presidency, given his past performance.
“I find it difficult to understand NDC communicators at times. Have they forgotten that John Mahama has been president before?” he asked.
