Vice Chairman for the Bawumia campaign team, Nana Akomea, has stated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is yet to conduct a thorough investigation into the reasons behind their high apathy among their members on election day.

In a phone interview on the Angel TV program “Yen Man Ghana,” on Saturday, December 14, 2024, hosted by Dr. Kwame Asah-Asante, Nana Akomea mentioned that they are still reviewing their findings on why Ghanaians, particularly their supporters, did not participate in the polls, which contributed to their loss in the 2024 General election.

According to him, they will begin their investigation by examining the electoral registers at each polling station.

He emphasized that they are aware of the number of their supporters, which will help them understand why they did not turn out to vote on December 7.

“We will talk to about fifty or twenty people in every polling station across the country to see why they decided not to vote. This information will be part of our investigation into the low turnout,” he said.

Nana Akomea pointed out that this investigation will help them identify the causes of their defeat in the next election. He expressed a desire to understand why their supporters feel disappointed and angry.

“We know our supporters through the voter register from every polling station, and we will reach out to them to understand the reasons behind the low turnout in the election,” he stated.
