Member of the New Patriotic Party Communications team, Awal Mohammed has disclosed that Dr. Bawumia’s running mate would hail from the Ashanti Region.
Speaking on Angel Morning Show, June 11, 2024, he highlighted the overwhelming support witnessed during Dr. Bawumia’s campaign in the region.
He marveled at the immense backing received and speculated on the impact of selecting a running mate from the Ashanti Region.
“Dr. Bawumia kicked off his tour in the Ashanti Region recently and has already garnered remarkable support. Given this level of backing, it’s foreseeable that naming a running mate from the region will further bolster our party’s prospects,” he noted.
Highlighting the strategic significance, he emphasized, “Choosing a running mate from the Ashanti Region is pivotal for the NPP’s success in the upcoming elections.”
While acknowledging that it’s not obligatory to select a candidate from the region, he underscored the resonance of Dr. Bawumia’s support there. “Although it’s not mandatory, considering the overwhelming support Dr. Bawumia has received, having a running mate from the Ashanti Region will undoubtedly fortify the party,” he concluded.
