The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is currently in a meeting to decide who will partner the party’s flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia into the 2024 elections.

NEC which is the highest decision making body in the NPP is currently in a meeting at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.

The name of Manhyia South Member of Parliament (MP), Matthew Opoku Prempeh has been put out as the ideal candidate which the flagbearer has presented to NEC. Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has been on a tour introducing NAPO to some leading members of the NPP.

Wontumi comes into the meeting with ‘serious apatai’ Dance moves

Ashanti Regional Chairman of the party, Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Wontumi is perhaps the 3rd most happiest man at this meeting.

At least, he can boast of having one of the MPs under him, Matthew Opoku-Prempeh now partnering the party’s flagbearer into the 2024 elections.

And he shows off his obvious happiness at this event by demonstrating some ‘serious’ dancing skills.

Watch his ‘apatai’ dance moves below:

Prez Akufo-Addo arrives to a cheerful welcome

The first gentleman of the land, Nana Akufo-Addo became the toast of several NPP supporters when he arrived at the location for the NEC meeting.

Nana Akufo-Addo has been the face of the NPP since his election as flagbearer of the party in 2007. ‘He has been carrying the elephant all this while’, one can say.

‘Nana o. Nana o, Nana o’, the NPP supporters cheer on as his convoy arrived at the Alisa Hotel.

If there is anyone in this meeting who has experience on this kind of meeting, then it is certainly this man who once has since 2007 been presenting a running mate to NEC.

ARRIVAL OF CHIEF OF STAFF

The Chief of Staff, Frema Osei Opare is among the high profile members of the NPP who have arrived at the Alisa Hotel for this all-important meeting of the NPP.

Her name popped up as one of the forerunners for the position as she also hailed from the Ashanti Region.

Proponents of her name also added that she will attract votes because she is a female and a ‘mother for all’.
