The New Patriotic Party (NPP) pair of Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia and Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh for the 2024 general elections is below standard, Fiifi Asante Mpare has stated.

According to him, the ticket of the duo as presidential candidate and running mate is the worst ever pair to lead the NPP into any polls.

Fiifi Asante Mpare, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Deputy Communication Officer for the United Kingdom and Ireland Chapter comment comes after Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh also known as NAPO was outdoored the presidential running mate for the NPP.

Fiifi Asante Mpare is the NDC’s Deputy Communication Officer for the United Kingdom and Ireland Chapter.

“What this government is doing is a joke, with NAPO, we shouldn’t even go there, he is an insult to Ghanaians. Bawumia and NAPO ticket is a junk ticket. It is the worst NPP ticket I have ever seen in history,” he told Angelonline.com.gh in an interview.

“Dr. Bawumia who labeled himself as an ‘economic wizkid’ and claimed could turn the fortunes of the country around for better has ‘failed woefully as Ghana’s Vice President and the head of the government’s economic team, he said.

Mr. Asante Mpare while touching on NAPO’s candidature as running mate indicated that his tenure as Minister of Education and Energy sectors was nothing to write home about. He also described him as “arrogant and a tribal bigot.”

Against these backdrops, he deemed their ticket “unfit” and hinted that they lacked the qualifications required to lead the NPP let alone an entire country like Ghana.

NPP accuses NDC government of “fiddling” with anti-flood interventions as June 29 rains hit Accra

He emphasized and wondered why the incumbent government would rest its shoulders on Dr. Bawumia and NAPO despite the ‘we have the men’ slogan.

“Didn’t we hear the NPP say they have the men? Today, the same men have crushed the bus of Ghana. They do not have any men. For the mere that you see people labeled themselves as Professors and Doctors doesn’t mean they have the brains. So when you look at just the titles then you are just making mistakes,” he said.

The NDC’s communicator cautioned Ghanaians against reposting their future into the care of Dr. Bawumia and NAPO come December 7 since committing such a mistake will jeopardize their future.

“NAPO and Bawumia cannot help Ghana, they will be a disastrous pair for Ghana and it would be worse than the Akufo-Addo administration,” he said.
