‘Learn to be serious in politics’ – Gbande to Bawumia

The Deputy General Secretary of the main opposition political party, National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustafa Gbande, has asked Ghanaians to be vigilant as they prepare to go and cast their votes at the various polling centres in the upcoming 2024 general elections.

He stated that as the party seeks to closely monitor all processes leading up to, during, and following the election, the need for a collaborative effort from the general public is key to prevent any attempted manipulation by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He therefore entreated Ghanaians, particularly members of the NDC, to ensure that they go to their various voting centers with their mattresses and cameras while policing the ballot papers.

“What I will tell Ghanaians is that they shouldn’t leave everything on the NDC alone, so  what I will tell them is they should go to the polling stations with their mattresses [beds] and after casting their votes, they should find a place and sleep there until the EC officials declare the results at each polling centers before you proceed to your homes.

“Secondly, when going, go with your cameras and ensure that everything fishy attempted by the NPP is captured for evidence purposes because when dealing with criminals, you sleep with one eye open,” Mustapha Gbande said while speaking on Angel Morning Show, on Monday, July 29, 2024.

He added that “So do not leave the business of the day on the NDC alone so the NPP cannot manipulate the 2024 elections.”

According to him, while the NDC will leave no stone unturned to ensure it unseats the NPP, they will also protect the integrity of the electoral process on December 7.
