Parents and Guardians have been encouraged to offer their full support for children who decide to pursue Technical and Vocational courses at the second cycle and tertiary institutions.

This, according to Technical Advisor of the Ghana National Education Campaign Coalition, Charles Ahetor-Tsegah, is because courses in TVET is the future of education in Ghana and the globe.

The call for support for students pursuing TVET courses follow beliefs in several quarters that technical and vocational schools remain the preserve of students who do not mostly do well in the reading and mathematics courses.

Speaking at the 9th Graduation ceremony of Cherryfield Montessori School in Kwabenya Estate Junction in the Ga West Municipality, Mr Ahetor-Tesgah said the call has become necessary because parents and guardians have since time immemorial not held TVET course in high esteem.

“TVET education are verry essential for our children and I want to encourage parents that if for any reason, your children gets admission into any TVET institution, please, please, please take the opportunity and encourage your child to be able to develop skills that God has given him/her…,” he said.

He further called on parents who had gathered to celebrate graduands from pre-school, Upper Primary and Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates to offer their full support to their children as they are partners in the education chain.
