A member of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team, Maame Afua Akoto, confidently expressed that Dr. Bawumia, who represents the Islamic community, is fully capable of leading Ghana.

She emphasised that despite his Islamic faith, Dr. Bawumia has played a significant role in supporting the Christian community.

“We need a president who can unify the country. When Christians seek his assistance, he responds generously, and he is consistently present at their events. This demonstrates his commitment to unity,” she remarked.

Speaking to the crowd at Dr. Bawumia’s Eastern Regional campaign, she further noted that while Ghana has seen many presidents since independence, only a few have been Muslims. However, she firmly believes that Dr. Bawumia, as a Muslim, is the best candidate to guide the country toward progress.

“Since independence, we’ve had many presidents, but have you ever seen a Muslim president?” she asked the audience.

As a Christian, she expressed her desire to leave a positive legacy for future generations, strongly believing that a Muslim leader can also bring about significant improvement in the country.

“Let’s give our full support to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming elections because he is the one who can save Ghana,” she urged.
