Minister of Information, Fatimatu Abubakar has noted that 21 hospitals under the Agenda 111 project will be completed before the start of the December 7 elections.

According to the minister, the ongoing projects are at advanced stages of completion.

Madam Fatimatu Abubakar disclosed on the Angel Morning Show during a one-on-one interview with Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.

“I speak to you today, 87 hospitals of the Agenda 111 project are off-ground [contractor begins work having done all feasibility studies]. Initially, we had 101 district hospitals, but there have been an additional three due to the inclusion of the Nkoransa and Karaga districts into the project.

“Apart from the 101, the remaining 10 are referral hospitals, regional hospitals, and mental hospitals in Kumasi, Tamale and not forgetting the Koforidua regional hospital that has seen improvement in its project,” the minister explained.

In this significant development, the minister underscored President Akufo-Addo’s unwavering commitment to healthcare delivery in the country and indicated that more than 20 of these facilities would be completed within the next four months.

“So there have been massive improvements on the Agenda 111 projects, and as it stands now, 21 of these hospitals have reached their peak for completion according to the last update on the projects,” Fatimatu Abubakar added.
