Outspoken politician and a leading member of the Alliance for Revolutionary Change, Akwasi Addai Odike, has criticized former President John Mahama, claiming he lacks the will power to deliver on the promises outlined in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) manifesto.

Odike expressed his views on the manifesto launch, arguing that the event was more about making election-winning promises than addressing the country’s pressing issues.

He singled out the free tertiary education policy for first-year students and the proposal for a 24-hour economy which he labelled as ‘unsustainable.’

“It’s your poor leadership that has brought us to this point, where students can’t even afford tuition, forcing you to turn it into a campaign promise. And even then, students will still bear the brunt, as they’ll have to pay for hostels and other expenses,” he said.

Odike further criticized Mahama’s understanding of the 24-hour economy concept, suggesting that the former president lacked a clear grasp of the policy he was proposing.

He went on to assert that none of Mahama’s promises were capable of solving Ghana’s current problems.

“John Mahama has no vision for this country. None of his promises can rescue Ghana from its economic challenges. They’re just sweet words for votes and won’t provide the sustainable solutions the country needs,” he concluded.
