The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) has announced that its members will not participate in the strike action declared by Organised Labour.
The Association, however, reaffirmed its commitment to the fight against illegal mining.
In an emergency meeting held on October 8, 2024, the National Council of GRNMA issued a communique directing all nurses and midwives across the country to remain at their posts and continue providing essential healthcare services.
The GRNMA has opted to keep its members on duty, prioritizing the delivery of quality health services to Ghanaians.
The Association expressed its solidarity with fellow unions in the fight against galamsey, which has caused significant environmental damage in parts of the country.
GRNMA President, Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo, along with General Secretary Dr. David Tenkorang-Twum, emphasized the Association’s advocacy for stronger national interventions to tackle the menace of illegal mining.
