The Minister for Information, Fatima Abubakar, has announced that President Akufo-Addo is set to commission at least 10 hospitals under the Agenda 111 initiative by the end of the year.

The Minister while providing an update on the progress of the project confirmed that the commissioning would be done before the 2024 general elections.

In response to questions about the project’s timeline, the Minister assured the government’s commitment to fulfilling its promise.

She revealed that some of the hospitals are already complete and that the President will commission them within the next two weeks.

“Indeed, the Agenda 111 hospitals will be commissioned before the 2024 elections. The President will be commissioning at least 10 of them in two weeks, by October 30,” she stated.

The Information Minister indicated that, while many of the hospitals are near completion, only fully finished ones will be commissioned.

“We have about 30 hospitals nearing completion, but we will only commission those that are fully ready and can begin delivering healthcare services immediately.”

The Minister also noted that the Agenda 111 initiative has now expanded to Agenda 114 due to the creation of additional districts. The original plan was to build 111 hospitals, but we have had to add more to cater to the newly established districts,” she added.
