Mahama is the only Presidential candidate using ‘vulgar’ language in campaigning – Awal Mohammed

A National Communication team member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Awal Mohammed, has stated that former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, is the only leader in Ghana using unpleasant and unintelligent language.

Speaking on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, Awal claimed that the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was the first to use such language in this year’s election campaign.

According to him, whenever someone disagrees with the former president, he resorts to using derogatory terms.

“When Martin Amidu talked about the Airbus incident involving government officials, Mahama was the one who called him stupid. Mahama has said he will cancel the ex-gratia payments, and when Martin Kpebu said, he should first return what he took. Mahama called him silly; in fact, the leader himself is insulting people. So, I am not surprised that John Dumelo is also using senseless language,” he asserted.

He further condemned the NDC parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo, for using inappropriate word against another parliamentary candidate.

He argued that Dumelo could have called on the Electoral Commission (EC) to address the issue other than resorting to insults regarding someone allegedly distributing food.

“When someone allegedly shares food and you think you don’t understand the situation, you can still raise the issue and ask the EC to call her to order, but you shouldn’t insult anyone,” he said.
