United Party blames 63 years of inaction for Accra floods, calls for revival of 1963 Master Plan

A Senior Lecturer and Head of Chambers at the University of Ghana’s School of Law, Professor Kwame Gyan, has stated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) knows the reason for their loss in the 2024 general election.
According to Prof. Gyan, the NPP is aware of the main reason for their defeat therefore there is no need to set up a committee to investigate why they lost the election.
He pointed out that there is one particular person who caused their defeat, and they should identify that person rather than forming a committee to investigate their failure.

“There is a Jonah in the NPP who caused their defeat; they should look for that Jonah rather than setting up a committee to investigate why they lost the 2024 general election. They should find him, I am not the one to tell them who that Jonah is, as I was not in the boat,” Prof. Gyan stated.

Speaking on Angel TV on Sunday, January 5, 2025, he emphasized that there is no point in setting up a committee, as when they lose, they already know the cause of their defeat. He believes that the leaders in the NPP are their own enemies and should seek out the key figures responsible for their loss rather than appointing people to investigate their rout.
He said, “Whoever loses an election knows the reason for their loss. There are some key figures in the party who caused their defeat.”
