President-Elect John Dramani Mahama, has unveiled a list of key appointments to the Office of the President as he prepares to assume leadership.

The announcement made on January 6, 2025, outlines several strategic roles filled by seasoned professionals and trusted allies.

Julius Debrah has been appointed Chief of Staff, while Dr. Callistus Mahama will serve as Executive Secretary to the President. Prosper Douglas Bani will head the Interim Security Taskforce, reinforcing the administration’s focus on national security.

Dr. Valerie Sawyer has been appointed Senior Presidential Advisor for Governmental Affairs, and Augustus Goosie Tanoh will take on the role of Presidential Advisor for 24-hour economy and accelerated export development. Marietta Agyeiwaa Brew has been selected as Legal Counsel to the President, with Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu stepping in as Acting Spokesperson.

These appointments, effective January 7, 2025, signal Mahama’s intention to hit the ground running with a solid team by his side. The blend of familiar faces and experienced leaders reflects his commitment to stability, economic transformation and good governance.

As Ghana looks toward the incoming administration, the appointments lay the groundwork for what is expected to be a proactive and dynamic presidency.
