The team, which was the first African nation to win an Olympic medal in football at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain, is seeking to rediscover its footing as a powerhouse at its level in world football.

Coach Kassim Ocansey had a very active footballing career playing for then top tier teams Dumas Boys of GTP, GIHOC Stars, Sekondi Eleven Wise, and Accra Standfast over a period of eight years,” the GFA said.

The GFA, according to the statement, is confident that Coach Ocansey’s expertise and experience will be invaluable in building a formidable Black Meteors team that would be ultimately successful.
