Afenyo-Markin insists he has ‘ethical, constitutional rights to call out judges who disrespect the law’

The Member of Parliament for the Akyem oda constituency, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, has says John Mahama should return the votes that made him a President if he knows he cannot fulfill the many promises he made during his campaign.

He said campaign promises are social contracts with the electorate and so, a breach of any of them amounts to dishonesty.

Mr. Akwasi Acquah was contributing to UTVs morning show discussion, Adekye Nsroma on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, which was monitorred by Angelonline.com.gh

The programme had featured a story of President Mahama suggesting that the LGBQT Bill had expired with the 8th Parliament, making it impossible for him to sign it into law.

The immediate past Deputy Health Minister wondered why the President campaigned and promised to sign the Bill into law when he knows it could expire with the past Parliament.

The MP said all those who voted for President Mahama because of his promise to sign the Bill into law must demand their votes from the him.
