Former Chairman of the Appointments Committee in Parliament, Joseph Osei-Owusu, has declared his innocence amid ongoing bribery allegations against parliamentarians serving on various committees.

Joe Wise, as he is popularly known in political circles, insisted that he had never engaged in any bribery-related conduct while carrying out his duties.

He emphasized that throughout his tenure on committees such as Roads and Transport and Constitutional, Legal, and Parliamentary Affairs, he never compromised his integrity or professionalism.

“I remember Manasseh Azure alleging that we took money from nominees, and I denied it because, ever since I became a member of the Appointments Committee, I have never had any business transactions with any individual or group,” he stated.

Speaking on Angel TV’s Angel Morning Show (AMS), he challenged anyone who believed he had engaged in any transactional favors to come forward.

“In my 16 years as an MP, I throw a challenge to any businessman or individual who has ever offered me money on a committee to come out and say it,” Joe Wise reiterated, “It has never happened on any committee I was part of.”
