The Minority Caucus in Parliament has cautioned the Majority against what it describes as calculated attempts to frustrate and intimidate them during the ongoing vetting process of ministerial nominees appointed by President John Dramani Mahama.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, February 3, 2024, Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin stated that the caucus remains steadfast in its parliamentary duties for the betterment of the country.
He reiterated the Minority’s commitment to national interest and categorically stated that the Majority’s attempts at intimidation would not succeed.
“We are going through difficult moments, but we will never be intimidated. Aluta continua, we will not allow ourselves to be cowered, the mighty few and the happy few, we are going to stand our grounds and ensure that the right thing is done all in the national interest,” the Minority leader declared during the presser.
He further emphasized that the Minority Caucus has no intention of obstructing government business.
“We are not going to fight anybody, we are not going to disrupt and obstruct government business. So far, we have been the most corporative in the chamber and the NDC should applaud us for supporting them, we rest our case. Thank you very much,” he stated.
