Dishonesty, thievery straining job creation – Prophet John Anokye

The Prelate of Worldwide Word Ministries, Prophet John Anokye, has expressed concern that foreigners may soon dominate the local job market if Ghanaian workers do not change their attitude.

According to Prophet Anokye, dishonesty, corruption, and thievery among some Ghanaian workers are hindering job creation efforts by employers. He observed that many entrepreneurs now prefer to hire foreigners to manage their businesses while assigning locals to lower-level roles.

He warned that “things could get worse as more business owners are becoming convinced that non-nationals are more trustworthy than Ghanaians. This could lead to foreigners taking over jobs reserved for Ghanaians in the informal sector due to a lack of trust,” he said.

Addressing journalists on Monday, February 10, 2025, at the church premises in Adjirigano, Accra, Prophet Anokye urged Ghanaians “to actively commit to truthfulness, demonstrate integrity, and uphold ethical behavior in their workplaces.”

The press conference was held to announce the commencement of a week-long celebration marking the ninth anniversary of Worldwide Word Ministries, also known as the Hill City Church. The celebrations will conclude on Sunday, February 16, 2025, with a ‘Breaking of Bread Ceremony’ at the Hill City Auditorium.

“In alignment with our theme, ‘Greater Mandate,’ we reflect on the divine calling that guides every aspect of our ministry. At Worldwide Word Ministries, we are committed to being a results-driven, truth-proclaiming, and solution-oriented global ministry that embraces the Word of God and the Spirit of God as the foundation of our existence and operations” he stated.

Prophet Anokye added: “Our ministry remains active throughout the year, not just during anniversary celebrations. Our weekly Sunday services, dubbed the ‘Tree of Life Service,’ and Wednesday evening ‘Fruit Bearing Services,’ along with the ‘Global Prayer Palace’ every Thursday, provide continuous spiritual nourishment”

“Additionally, our special programs, such as the Blood Factor Festival, Altar for Altar, Healing in Health, Mysteries Conference, and the flagship Prophetic Arena, offer divine encounters throughout the year.”

The outreach arm of the church, John Anokye Ministries, is dedicated to conducting crusades in schools and communities, while ICARE, the church’s NGO, provides support to the poor, needy, and marginalized in society.

Through Worldwide Word Television and its YouTube page, Prophet John Anokye continues to spread the message of God and reach a global audience.
