Frank Aduse Opoku, the immediate past District Chief Executive (DCE) of Asunafo South, has expressed a deep concern about the content of President John Mahama’s upcoming Independence Day speech, scheduled for March 6, 2025.
According to Mr. Aduse Opoku on Angel TV, President Mahama’s will likely repeat familiar themes and promises in the past, rather than offering anything substantially new.
He claims that a comparison of speeches by former presidents, including Atta Mills, Rawlings, and Nana Addo, since 2000, will reveal a similar narrative.
“I am not a prophet, but if you can predict what President Mahama will say tomorrow, just compare it from 2000, what the former presidents, J.J. Rawlings, Atta Mills, and Nana Addo said is the same thing Mahama will say.
There is not going to be any difference, even with the speech he made last week, were the same as to what Ex President Atta Mills had stated,” he said.
In his opinion, “The issue with Ghana, is that politics has become deeply ingrained in our society.
He questions whether the multi-party democratic system is hindering our progress, as the country continues to move backwards.
