The Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Club Licensing Board hasb: approved five venues ahead of the Ghana Premier League’s resumption on March 7.
This was in line with the GFA Stadium Directives, the Enhanced Safety and Security Protocols 2025, following a thorough re-inspection exercise of all 15 GPL match venues.
GFA rejects venues for Kotoko, Hearts and five others ahead of GPL return
The inspection forms part of the road map for the resumption of the league and conducted with reference to the GFA Stadium Directives and the Infrastructure Criteria as enshrined in the Enhanced Safety and Security Protocols 2025.
The five venues approved are TNA Stadium, Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, Dun’s Park Bibiani, Nsekyire Sports Arena, and the Kpando Sports Stadium.
According to a statement released by the GFA, these venues were “confirmed and fully approved for the ongoing league”, and noted the inspections were limited to “technical and Security aspects of these facilities based on the minimum requirements approved for Category 3 matches.”
“The areas of interest included the following; the state of the playing field, availability of Inner perimeter fencing or barrier system, minimum seating capacity, dressing rooms, presence of a Safe Zone Area, the external walling, and the safe entry and exit points,” the FA explained.
However, the GFA confirmed that the UG Stadium, Baba Yara were not ready to host matches giving them conditional approval for the resumption of Ghana Premier League.
