The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ahafo Ano South West, Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah, says the previous the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration led by former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, had put the economy on a smooth sail before the current regime took over.
He urged the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration to dmit to the fact and utilize the opportunity grow the economy.
According to Mr. Dapaah, the NDC should acknowledge that the immediate past government led by Nana Akuffo-Addo made it easier for the current administration.
During a panel discussion on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on March 12, 2025, Mr. Dapaah stated that the NPP government did well to plan for making it easy for President Mahama’s administration to govern the country.
However, he does not understand why NDC members are now painting them in a negative light, as he believes it will not bring progress as a nation.
“What they’re saying doesn’t exist; in everything we planned, they’re coming to continue. But today, you’re painting your brother black. You claim things have become hard, meanwhile your promises are big. Where are you going to get the money?
“So, you must admit we created the avenue for you to utilize, but for you to come and sabotage is something that I don’t think will bring progress,” he explained.
He argued that due to the good policies they put in place, the current government has been able to make certain promises to the citizens.
To him, if it were not for their good policies during their time in office, they would not be able to mention certain amounts in their 2025 budget statement.
