Ghana’s Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has announced a significant allocation of GH₵1.5 billion for the agriculture sector as part of the government’s economic transformation program.
He said the allocated funds will support key initiatives to enhance food security, promote local food production in the country, provide financial support to local communities, and promote economic development.
According to Minister Ato Forson, this allocation demonstrates the government’s commitment to transforming the agriculture sector and promoting economic growth.
“Mr. Speaker, we have also allocated an amount of 1.5 billion Ghana cedis for agriculture for economic transformational program of which Feed Ghana Programme, Ghana Grains Development Projects, Vegetable Development Project, and Nkokor Nketenkete are all key components,” says Ato Forson during the 2025 Budget Statement on March 11, 2025.
