Adum Market Fire: ‘My heart goes out to the affected traders’ – Mahama

The 2024 Presidential Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has appealed to the general public to come together and offer assistance to traders of the Adum Market in Kumasi who were hit hard following last week’s.

Many of the affected persons lost several properties in the fire, including shops.

According to Dr. Bawumia, it is prudent for Ghanaians to come to the aid of the affected traders, who have significantly lost their livelihoods and capital in the fire incident.

“… we should help them to rebuild as quickly as possible. They have said that they want to build this themselves, and I want to support that.

“Whatever help the government can give, whatever help every individual can give, nothing is too small, every help we can give to them, let us all as Ghanaians come together and help them because they have lost their livelihoods,” he said.

He further encouraged “companies, individuals, and governments to come and support them because they need help right now.”

Dr. Bawumia made a commitment of GH¢200,000 and 1,000 bags of cement to the Adum traders, ensuring that the decision to reconstruct the market becomes successful.
