Leader of the Union Government, Akwasi Addai Odike claims illegal kill innocent people at sites for rituals.

During a panel discussion on the Angel Morning Show with Saddick Adams on Monday, March 24, the businessman said these workers, who go to galamsey sites seeking employment, are sometimes buried.

He highlighted that, “there is a perception that gold cannot be found without human sacrifice.”

He also pointed out the environmental devastation caused by these activities, noting that water bodies and forest reserves are being destroyed leading to contamination of food crops.

Odike emphasized that many residents in Accra remain indifferent to the galamsey crisis, mistakenly believing it only affects regions like Western Region and Ashanti.

However, he warned that toxic foods from these areas are making their way to them which they also purchase.

He cautioned that such exposure could lead to serious health issues, including kidney problems.
