Ghana’s democratic practices will be meaningless if incumbent President John Dramani Mahama fails to live up to expectations, a Communications Team Member of the Movement for Change has hinted.
Mr. Buckman is of the view that Ghanaians’ massive endorsement of the statesman is both a privilege and a mandate for him to turn the country’s fortunes around.
He highlighted that coupled with Mr. Mahama’s expertise as a former president, it would be a great disservice to the country if his shortcomings overshadow his achievements, as he is the last hope.
“If you take a critical look at how badly Ghana has been destroyed under our leaders, it is too much. The NDC is one leg of the duopoly, and if Mahama’s government fails, our democracy is gone. Then democracy is of no use to us [Ghana],” Mr. Buckman stated on April 3, 2025.
He made this assertion while expressing his disappointment in the country’s leadership predominantly managed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The Movement for Change communicator, speaking during a panel discussion on the Angel Morning Show (AMS), advocated for proactive leadership to exploit the country’s rich natural resources for development.
“I have said that there is no country in the world God has blessed more than Ghana. We have cocoa, gold, bauxite, and just a few of these…..,” he told Saddick Addams.
He emphasised the need for leaders to wake up from their slumber and incompetence.
