The Nifahene of the Akuapim Traditional Council, Osuodumgya Otutu Ababio V, has urged parents to take a proactive role in correcting their children’s misbehaviours to secure a better future for them.
Speaking to Angel News at Adukrom during the Akwasidae festivities and the swearing-in ceremony for Atipimhemaa of Adukrom, Nana Odei Akosua Walker, he highlighted the concerning trend of youth engaging in harmful behaviours that could endanger their futures.
Nana Ababio emphasised that it is the responsibility of parents to provide guidance and support to their children.
He further implored all parents to take their responsibilities seriously in order to cultivate future leaders for Adukrom.
“What I will say is that parents should train their children very well. I plead with you; we all know Adukrom has recently received negative attention.
“So I beg you, I will not repeat it again, and what happened should not happen again.
“We should have total control over our children and advise them. Even if they take hard drugs and we see them misbehaving, we should call them and put them in the right direction,” Nana Ababio advised.
