Karim Zito’s era at Asante Kotoko gets major boost with Aduana Stars win

Must Read

Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s new era under acting Head Coach and Technical Director, Karim Zito, began on a winning note following his takeover from Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum.

Zito masterminded a 1-0 victory over Aduana Stars in his debut match in charge.

Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum was dismissed after back-to-back losses to Accra Lions and Nations FC.

In front of their home fans at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, striker Kwame Poku scored the winning goal in the 25th minute to end the club’s winless run.

Goalkeeper Mohammed Camara played a crucial role in the win by saving a penalty in the 37th minute, helping the Porcupine Warriors secure the victory.

Despite the win, Kotoko remains in fourth place in the league standings but has reduced the point gap to three points (50) after league leaders Bibiani Gold Stars (53 points) lost 2-0 to Vision FC.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko will face bitter rivals Accra Hearts of Oak in their next match of the ongoing season.
