NCDA calls for responsible opposition from NPP

Must Read

The National Concerned Drivers Association (NCDA) of Ghana has called on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to exhibit responsibility while in opposition.

According to the concerned drivers, they have endured the repercussions of the NPP’s eight wasted years in office under former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

However, they cannot forget how their leadership oversaw the devastating rise of illegal mining, commonly known as galamsey.

“Our rivers and water bodies became so polluted that the very water supplied to clean our car engines and fill our tanks began to damage our vehicles.

“The costs and burdens of these damages were directly borne by ordinary Ghanaians, including members of our association.

“We recognise the importance of a vibrant and responsible opposition in any democracy,” NCDA expressed.

The NCDA noted that the recent swoops against galamsey have been encouraging and must be sustained to safeguard Ghana’s natural resources for future generations.

Additionally, they urged the Attorney General and the Special Prosecutor to remain focused and act decisively in addressing the Akonta Mining saga and related cases of environmental degradation.
