The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has announced a major reshuffle involving the reassignment of programme managers and deputy directors within the health sector.
A letter addressed to all divisional and regional directors, and signed by the Acting Director-General, Prof. Samuel Kaba Akoriyea, stated that the decision was made following a thorough review.
As part of this shake-up, 13 programme managers and district directors in the Greater Accra, Ashanti, Northern, Central, and Ahafo regions have all been reassigned, effective May 19, 2025.
According to the letter, the move forms part of a “broader national strategy to strengthen the health system.”
